So I just noticed my oldest daughter's school is planning a field trip to Washington D.C. next year. Does this itinerary sound...insane?

just looking at Tuesday makes me exhausted. (how can you visit the Smithsonian in one day, let alone one afternoon?!?)


MONDAY
7:00 AM Arrive Washington, D.C. Breakfast. This morning you will visit the Petersen House, the Navy Yard (subject to appointment) and the National Archives Building. Lunch. This afternoon you will visit Mt. Vernon, the home of George and Martha Washington. Dinner. Then check into your hotel.

TUESDAY
7:00 AM Breakfast. This morning you will stop by the White House for pictures, visit the
Washington National Cathedral (subject to appointment) and tour Embassy Row.
Lunch. This afternoon you will visit the Smithsonian Museum of Natural
History, the American History Museum and the Holocaust Museum (subject to appointment). Dinner. This evening you will visit the Korean, Viet Nam, Lincoln and World War II Memorials.

WEDNESDAY
7:00 AM Breakfast. This morning you will travel to Gettysburg, PA where you will visit the
Civil War Museum (time permitting) and tour the Battlefield making stops at
Devil�s Den and Little Round Top (weather permitting). Lunch. This afternoon
you will continue your trip to Lancaster, PA where you will visit an Amish farm
and home, tour the countryside and learn the way of life of the Amish Community.
Dinner, then return to Washington and your hotel.

THURSDAY
7:00 AM Breakfast, then check out of your hotel. This morning you will visit the FDR and Jefferson Memorials, and the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (subject to
appointment). Lunch. This afternoon you will visit the Iwo Jima Memorial, the
Smithsonian Air and Space Museum and Arlington National Cemetery where you will see President Kennedy�s gravesite and view the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Dinner. Afterwards begin your trip home.
