Twitter is a great way to alert readers of updates to your site. I never did RSS feeds, but I love Twitter for this purpose.

Though a note to sites: Even if you do multiple updates at a time, spread out your tweets announcing them. When I see a whole block of tweets in a row from the same person/website, I tend to ignore them.
