it's why the Matt Young contract in 1990 was horrendous.
It's why the Vincente Padilla / Adam Eaton / Darren Dreifort / Gil Meche deals were horrendous.
Every average to merely decent pitcher all of a sudden has comparable skills to guys making 10mil a year. It ain't reasonable for 2/3 of these.
Hell, AJ, a good pitcher at best is making 18mil a year iirc ... in the biggest buyers market in recent history.
