if you can get into a doctor, I strongly recommend trying tamiflu.

a swiss coworker who I sat next to the first full day of an offsite meeting a few weeks ago (after he was blowing his nose, etc., I moved my chair away as far as I could, took defensive measures but that was that) gifted me with a horrid flu that wasn't in the vaccine. I started tamiflu within the best-case 48 hours and started to feel better... until I discovered I'm allergic to it and had to stop it. (pills have red dye 40, which I'm allergic to; so I took liquid that doesn't have it - unfortunately, something in it gave me itchy welty hives, oy).
first symptoms were feb. 16th - much better in general, but still coughing hard at times.
anything you can try to nip the bad in the bud = do it, do it!
when I had a similar uncovered flu around a year ago, it turned to double pneumonia; and the dr told me I should have come in for tamiflu. not waiting is a change from how I was conditioned my entire life, but that's what's directed now. I learned the hard way!
