It did make me want to go back and read the book again as the film pretty much gutted the story. Mild spoilers

Starts off well enough if expositiony, quest for the 2nd key is the highlight and then 3rd quest becomes an interminable CGI battle with no peril. They turned the bad guy in to a comedy villain and the heroes are bland.
The 3D is pretty good though and I figure it might be one to watch at home so you can slow it down and see which pop culture references they got the rights to as you can't really see it on the big screen as it goes by too fast.
