Oh, I don't think Trump has much in a portfolio. What I am insinuating, with little proof, is the following.

His real estate "empire" is a ship floating on a sea of debt. He relies on people willing to supply that money to him - notable investors include Icahn, Deutsche Bank, and Russians.

He is using the office to pay them back. There was a story last night that Icahn potentially made tens or hundreds of millions on stock prices reacting to regulations Scott Pruitt changed. And Pruitt had to personally interview in a closed door meeting with Icahn before he got the job.

Now I just linked the story that Icahn made a stock move that anticipated Trump's announced tariffs just seven days before Trump announced.
