I followed this yesterday from right after he posted about it. they responded within a couple of hours with what it shows at that link.

it actually seemed a little odd to me - he didn't say if he'd spoken with a manager, just that staff told him that it wasn't allowed. he also didn't say how the staff knew what he was doing - like was the guy with him?
the only non-buying for homeless I've ever seen is food-related laws re: not distributing in public places because of possible health issues; so I would have escalated right then and/or played it so that I was just buying the items and given them anyway, then escalated to corporate.
(I won't give cash to people who ask; but I've given items including going into a restaurant or store to buy something sometimes with the asker, so this lands for me.)
