by putting their release calendar out there.

Like - how much impact would it have had if their release calendar was:

April 2018 - Infinity War
July 2018 - Any Man and Wasp
March 2019 - Captain Marvel
May 2019 - Infinity War 2: Electric Boogaloo

They should have thought that out a little more, I think. if the plan was to dissolve half the characters - they shouldn't have made it common knowledge that most of them have sequels coming later on.
