Which is silly. The older the content, the less value (in actual real money) it carries.

I understand that radio plays have a lot more interest in the UK that elsewhere, but the BBC could be making money by running these online and selling online ads rather than trying to use this content as a draw to their radio station which isn't even subscriber-based (you get BBC radio whether you want it or not). Is BBC radio even ad supported?
It's a very backwards and obtuse philosophy in the context of the online world. Radio archives are being published everywhere. Here's something people might actually want to hear. Publish it.
