A core demographic is the military, some of whom are homophobic (although that situation seems to be improving). Another is gay men, who are the biggest evangelists for Crossfit that I've seen.
My instant reaction was that they've been trying to keep the two demographics largely unaware of each other, and this one pinhead just shouted it into a microphone.
