I've never been a cook but since I retired I'm trying things out. I've had more successes than failures (only 2). This is what I made tonight. -- (edited)

I couldn't find Spanish chorizo so used Andouille sausage. Kroger didn't have any Swiss chard so I used red chard. This is very reminiscent of Portuguese Kale soup (which I will get to eventually because I love it). I've never had farro before. I only knew that it can be used in some salads. It's kind of like barley. A little bit goes a long way in this soup.

I forgot to say, I love it!


It was too hot to go out for crusty bread (because that's what this needs) but I made cornbread. Better than just dumping in oyster crackers.
