B2 - pointless to resist. Malaysia just voted out its leader for massive corruption. His party dominated Malaysian politics for over 60 years, in

large part due to its Malays-first policies.

South Africa removed Jacob Zuma from the presidency because the ANC, which has dominated SA politics since the end of apartheid, feared losing power due to the backlash against his corruption.

Armenia's president was forced to resign after massive public protests.

These are just examples from this year.

Obviously the future hasn't been written and these changes could lead to further authoritarianism in those countries just like, say, the Arab Spring did in Egypt.

But America has strong institutions and a solid belief in democracy and liberal values like free speech, public debate, etc. If people in places like Malaysia and South Africa don't see their resistance as pointless and stupid, I don't think Americans should have that luxury.
