In response to "For someone who doesn't follow NBA news, is this about contract values or something else? -- nm" by Max

Golden State, who has won three of the last four years, just lost a player who averaged 4.8 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 0.9 blocks last year.

For $500,000 more, they've signed a guy who averaged 25.2 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks.

The new player is injured and unlikely to play until early 2019, but he's a member of the Dream Team and has two gold medals. He's also younger than the other guy.

It's truly insane that this is possible in the NBA.
