In response to "Either follow the NFL/MLB model, or don't have one at all." by Strongbad

NFL cap is completely broken. MLB is completely broken.

NBA is a different type of broken.

The goal in sports should be to have solid teams with strong identities to rally the fans while being entertaining.

The NFL -- you don't have that since everyone gets shafted near the end -- Brady should be able to retire in NE -- he likely won't. And as more 'parity' as come to the league, they've had to change the rules repeatedly to add more offense since the inconsistent behavior otherwise is slogging terrible.

The MLB -- a full 2/3 of the league isn't really trying because it's so out of whack. The AL East is spoken for for the next 5 years now.

The NBA is broken simply by 1 team being smart and the players understanding they have all the power. What can you really do to Cousins? Force him to sign a contract that wasn't be offered?
