Basically. There will come a point they won't be wearable. The rubber dries out and the foam hardens. The glue dries up and the upper will separate -- (edited)

Before they fall apart they'll be uncomfortable as the foam hardens. I wear a pair from 2006 regularly because I know they won't last forever.
