I think that's giving Tana maybe a little too much credit, but it may very well be true. It has occurred to me that this may be what she was doing all along. Her numbers were clearly inflated (that's not 20,000 people!) and she oversold the event. So the theory makes sense.
To add fuel to the fire, she agrees to be interviewed by Shane for this series. It's obvious that she'd agree to be hit in the face with a baseball bat if it meant she'd get press for it.
