the water in our area is fairly hard, I know a lot of people who have them. Not sure I could justify the expense though -- nm

Have you showered in softened water? Some people like it, I hate it. -- nm

Might I ask why as I've only really known our soft water. What differences do you notice?

It feels kind of slimy, and it's harder to rinse the soap/shampoo. -- nm

Thanks. I don't remember what it was like showering in hard water when I was out west.

Technically I think it FEELS like it's harder to rinse the soap off, but hard water actually leaves more soap on the skin. -- nm

It hasn’t really bothered me, other than leaving spots on dishes. But apparently it’s high (~16 grains per gallon) -- nm
