I'm not being entirely fatalistic like Dawson. :-)
I think a whole helluva lot can change in the next couple years, and I don't think anyone can provide any definitive -- much less confident -- predictions about any aspect of American politics these days.
But I do think Trump, or the eventual Republican Party nominee for President, has a distinct advantage. That distinct advantage can be countered if the Democratic Party strongly coalesces behind a candidate who will also strongly attract voters who don't normally pay attention to politics.
