Totally agree with that.

I think the big advantage of a good barber is the straight-razor cut to define the edges. That helps the appearance aspect a lot.

I just don't have the talent or visual acuity to take care of my beard entirely on my own.

I tried Maestro's beard butter and another balm, but I just couldn't get it to work with my hair texture.

The Honest Amish oil and Proraso lotion are in that category of timeless treatments that have worked for decades. I could easily imagine my grandfathers and great-grandfathers using this same stuff back in the day.
