hopefully you can find a reasonably priced place to stay. maybe air bnb or priceline or similar. I've seen some good results lately with people I follow using hoteltonight - you can book up to 7 days in advance, so maybe could have something with a good cancellation policy booked and then give them a whirl to see if there's something even better available closer to the trip.
