I get ticked every time there's a story, especially those that mention the ocean issue and don't talk about what's behind most of that - esp. that there are only 5 countries that are behind the half+ of all plastic being dumped. there needs to be big pressure put on them.
also, I know starbucks had disabled protesters and have said they'll work with relevant folks on solutions; but I also think they need to better address the extra plastic in their lids - based on the ones they already have for at least one of their cold brew coffees, it has more plastic than a straw has. iirc, it's recyclable; but they need a campaign to promote actually doing that, to make their reusable offerings more accessible (seriously, I may have gasped when checking their current tumbler prices here - nutso high), and more. they have such a position, I think they could incentivize, at the very least.
