Well, keep in mind, I have the JBL2, I think and this is the 4. Mine isn't ever waterproof. But, I'd guess it at a good 4 hours or so. Now -

my favorite one that we have is my Altec Lansing Boomjacket.
We take this on the river with us...it's water, dirt, sand - well everything proof. Waterproof as in, you could just drop it in the river and let it float down with you.
We get a good 6-8 hours of play time on this one. Now, it does have 2 charging ports - so if you plug your phone into it to charge, you reduce playback time. But it's pretty awesome.
