You mentioned you were considering buying an Xbox One. If you have Xbox Live Gold (monthly online subscription), you get free games.

3 free games every month (2 Xbox One games and 1 Xbox 360 game that plays on Xbox One). Once you "buy" them (for $0.00), you own them forever, not just for that limited period. So now I own *hundreds* of games. Getting the Xbox One S is wise because of the bigger hard drive. I've learned that having the games *installed* makes it more likely that I'll play them, rather than just having them floating in the cloud with the prospect that maybe one day I'll get bored and install them.
This is "Games with Gold" (GWG). And it makes the Xbox One (and Xbox Live Gold) a spectacular value.
