It's ambiguous and meant to be, but assholes don't change over night so sure, they're up for killing the guy at the start of the journey as it's their default position.

But we've seen some chinks in the asshole armoury so it's up to the audience to decide if they would go through with it when they reach their destination, and I tend to think not.
