Nope. The outlined method I saw says the code builds structures within the object that can be detected, probably through some type of imaging (xray,

MRI, etc) and would appear in multiple places. Could be specific shapes, such as letters or symbols, or a barcode, or some other group of identifying marks.

It's worth noting that there are apps designed to defeat copier and printer steganography, so the same would eventually be true for 3D printers.
