There's still a difference, though, exemplified by my March trip.

I had the option of flying a final leg to London and driving up to the Loo (that's a thing now, you can't tell me it isn't), but instead I stopped at Pearson and rented a car and drove down.

This afforded me the freedom to stop at my leisure, and to explore the area at ground level a bit. Also worked for the way back, where I was able to stop at some recreational areas and get some neat photos. Freedom. And comfort.
