Jack (the cat who is afraid of beetles) sat on the windowsill and made friends with a pigeon the other day. The bird just cooed and sat right across from him for about 15 minutes. Jack never even considered that this might be prey. The bird would even leave for a little while and come back and look for him. It was bizarre. I think it's because he's been so sheltered from kittenhood on.
Meanwhile, Calvin (the 17-year-old cat), is looking at Jack like, "Kids these days..."
