yeah, to get a handgun you basically have to be part of a shooting club. a friend here runs one, and he has interesting stories about applicants.

lots of angry people, occasional people he thinks might be planning something, the very occasional person planning a suicide.
and also like an active part of a shooting club. stop going and you can lose the licence and the gun(s).
