As part of its plan to completely dominate the fizzy beverage market, PepsiCo is buying drink machine-maker SodaStream for $3.2 billion. Since SodaStream produces beverages that are relatively light compared to Pepsi and other canned and bottled products, Fast Company notes that the beverage titan might be trying to appeal to customers who are “shunning traditional soda drinks for healthier offerings.” PepsiCo hasn’t announced many details about the acquisition, but hopefully this means that SodaStream users will eventually be able to make their own Pepsi, 7-Up, and Mountain Dew à la minute.
