4k resolution on a 55" TV means a pixel size of 0.3 mm squared. They can definitely be made smaller but the human eye can't really detect much better than that with any real confidence. On a giant jumbotron screen there's definitely room to go.

20mm is the pixel pitch, but direct view LED isn't exactly apples to oranges in comparison. -- nm
