4k is definitely a step up in image resolution, but even them, you're getting a very compressed version for transmission.

right now, a single multicast uncompressed 4k signal needs a 10gb switch. start adding other features and you introduce compression. we're far from really seeing true 4k.
related - i got a lovely 56gb 4k rip of Infinity War, first thing i've seen in 4k on my new TV. it was odd - some cgi looked terrible at the resolution - almost like a cartoon, but other stuff was stunning.
