LYC: So yesterday, the hospital here in town again denied accepting Trish. Their story this time is that the one on-site physician they felt could
handle her case, due to the wound care, is going to be gone for ten days.
I ended up speaking to a couple of case managers. I think they were wrong about the seriousness of her case as they were going off stuff from her current hospital that was a week old.
Also her regular doctor is in a clinic about 100 yards away from the hospital. He actually is a guy I was in Army ROTC with in college. He went and did battlefield medicine in Bosnia. He loves wounds as they are a break from his regular practice and he is credentialed in the hospital and often covers the ER there.
But they didn't consider him as he is not "on-site".
Anyways, long and short of it, hopefully today Trish is being transferred to a different facility in Boise. A person from there is supposed to come and see her in half an hour.
I shared Yelp on the place she is at. This new place has only one review on Yelp but it is five stars. I found a US News & World Report rating on them of five stars, listed as a "Top Performing" place. The food looks awesome, the facility looks wonderful, they have activities for their recovering patients, and the rehab she will need. It is in-network on Trish's insurance.
We just kept wondering last night about this new place: "This seems too good to be true. What is the catch?"
