The idea is that they have to play the nullifier AS they're voting.
So, "I'm voting for Jovian tonight. Also, I have the idol nullifier, I'm playing that on Jovian as well."
Then - you would have to actually play the idol - for yourself - then and only then will it count.
If they play the idol on you, but you play it to protect mandy - the nullifier doesn't work and the idol stays live.
If they play it on you and you don't play an idol - it's just wasted.
I think it has some decent possibilities.
