So questions I would have for her. What computers have a camera on them?
I would run several programs anti virus/malware on those computers. I would change ALL passwords not just the password that was in the subject.
If there is any doubt? Do not pay or even reply to that email. I would submit it to law enforcement (I doubt the person is in the U.S. but sometimes they are.
My guess here, obviously they have the password. I would guess they used that to gain entry to many things. I would want to know if they have the ability to lock up the computer for future ransom.

I always tape over or unplug my cameras when not in use. Painters tape so no residue is left on the lens.
