slight confession time - in local Seattle politics, I supported this Republican for sheriff...and I was sort of right

He was a great sheriff. The problem is that he used being a great sheriff as a springboard to Congress. As a Congressman, I detested his voting record.
The weird thing now is that he is retiring from Congress because he is "too moderate" for the current GOP.
