One complaint I have about the show is that the way they shot the ghosts, we oftentimes couldn't tell who was who. Kim thought that was the mother, and we had to google it to verify it was Nellie.
I loved the Nellie character. I thought it was interesting that Carla Gugino stared at her son as the door closed, but Nellie just hugged her dad. I presume that this hints that she'll see her brother again.
My biggest complaint about the show is how casually the characters got past the immediacy of supernatural encounters. After their dead sister screams at them in the car, they apparently get right back in the front seats and drive to Hill House.
I would literally never get in that car again. I would sell it on eBay as, "Must pick up on current location off road in the middle of nowhere. If you want a test drive, I will NOT ride in the car with you."
Meanwhile, they sit out in the field and have a heart-to-heart about the issues in their relationship. Me, I'd worry about additional screaming ghosts. Once I see one of them, it kind of fucks up my week, you know?
