In response to "I had a horrible moment about an hour in when I realized how much closer the events of the movie were to my birth than present day is. -- nm" by Ender

Heh. Growing up there was a part of me that wished I'd been born a decade later.

By the time that I'd figured it out, I felt like I missed the peak of the 60's space race as I was born a couple of months after that first moon landing.

So the first NASA project that I could remember watching live was Apollo-Soyuz. Then it was a long wait till the Shuttle

And for feeling old, now I've out lived the shuttle.

For all the excitement of private launch vehicles, there's also the frustration that for the time being humanity is currently grounded without man-rated system currently flying.

Though I imagine my frustration isn't nearly as founded as it for the crew who is currently on the ISS.
