I think it has the opposite effect. I would predict voting rates would fall. Maybe not the first election but sooner than later.

We vote by mail here, we have a month to drop of our ballot. We can fill it out at home. This is the magic bullet, not a holiday. Spread out the amount of days you can cast a ballot.
