The streaming era has been extremely unkind to alternative crossover hits.

Last year we did have Imagine Dragons twice and Portugal The Man, but this year Imagine Dragons just missed twice (both Whatever It Takes and Natural made the top 20 but not top ten) and not much else has come close. Nothing else this year has been huge on radio or the streaming services, and that's what's required. Even Weezer's Africa only made it to #22 on Radio songs
