yup, I always overtipped bartenders early in the night and was almost always rewarded with great service later when I was bombed. -- nm

Maybe if you’re like doubling the size of your tip. If you’re going like 15% to 20% or 20% to 25% the impact has been shown to be marginal.

Yeah, I've done this. If I'm planning to be at a place for more than an hour (on my laptop) I'll leave a larger tip. -- nm
