To a degree I think that's right, except I think Barry is a more nuanced character (he's got a cynical edge that Dewey doesn't). Jack Black's

"signature" role is not nuanced. Also, I think a signature role needs to be more of a lead role. Dewey is the best version of the Jack Black-iest of roles.
