It was quite an event to mark what was otherwise a somewhat melancholic party.

Not that it was melancholic per se, but the symbolism.
When I worked there 2-3 years ago, we were 20-ish. We worked in this nice, big house, we had a lot of incoming projects.
Then, 2 years ago, as I probably told here many times, the money started to dry up and we had to let go about half, including me.
This part was the last one in this house, as they are moving to smaller place. There will be 6-8 people working there, and even some partners are looking for outside work.
But the unexpected guests turned it into a rather memorable affair.
