Harold Baines was elected to the HOF? *smh* If he gets in then I have a long list of guys that should get in but being very good shouldn't be enough.

If Edgar gets in as a DH, I'm fine with Baines getting in. -- nm

Baines isn't anywhere close to being qualified with his stats. It's not about him being a DH but about him not being one of the best

to be fair, he started in 83 before the roids kicked in

He was a very good hitter. I'm not trying to say he was garbage. But his numbers aren't hall worthy. -- nm

I don't disagree, but I also don't think it is rage worthy. -- nm

Agreed. I'm not looking to fight about it but I do enjoy the discussion. -- nm

If he had started his career in 1990 instead of 1980, he'd have 500 HR, and an over 900 OPS. He's a lot better than you think he is. -- nm

But he didn't and his numbers aren't good enough to be in the hall. I saw him play and he was good but not one of the best of his time.

I think he's just below Murray, Schmidt, Murphy for that era of power hitter. YMMV. -- nm

I don't see that comparison. Baines need a lot of years to get the numbers he has. -- nm

highest % from the writers was 6.1%. I'm only 6.1% from being in the MLB HOF too! -- nm
