Maintenance costs on my (new to me) used car (2012 model) have me very anxious.

I just paid it off earlier this year, but I'm already thinking that it won't be long until I need to start making monthly payments on maintenance. The dealership just recommended a laundry list of (bullshit) services that'll cost thousands. Heck, I bought new tires for my car this year. That, alone, wouldn't be a factor for a leased car as I'd return it to the dealership within 36-48 months, before I ever need new tires.
