Has anyone here heard of something called "Couch to 5K"? I've seen some folks on FB discussing it.

yeah, I did it several years ago and definitely built up to being able to run more than 5k easily.

I bought running shoes (at Costco) 2 weeks ago, with the thought that I'm going to try and start jogging.

Yeah, I'm not sure my knees can handle it - but I'd also think that getting in better shape (something I haven't tried in a few months now) would help

running is really hard on your knees, legs, etc. Lots of impact.

I switched to rollerblading for this reason (it was my hips more than my knees). Much better. -- nm
