Black Panther was a doomed project at one point, so I'm still kind of stunned by its dominance.

Aquaman not being a punchline is another.
In terms of bang for the buck, A Quiet Place and Crazy Rich Asians are way up there, but the Halloween reboot wins.
Peter Rabbit's success disgusts me, while I'm pleased with Creed 2 (although I'd hoped for more). Death Cure making money is such a strange thing.
For the losers, Bumblebee was a bad idea that never should have gotten a greenlight. Skyscraper deserved a better fate. Tomb Raider went wrong early and never got back on course. First Man is my biggest disappointment of the year since they did so little with it and audiences could tell.
And we're doing something wrong with American marketing if Paddington can only make $40 million.
