Sorry people, but I think hyde is right.

The issue wit Pedro is that in his best season, going by Will's ERA+ category which is helpful for comparing pitchers from different eras, you could get to the bullpen. As was shown in yesterday's O's/Jays game, that could be all it takes.

Meanwhile, in Gibson's top year he threw a complete game in 28 of his 34 games. He pitched a shutout in 13 of them. And from doing some math, it looks like there were some extra inning games in there.

I don't want the risk of Pedro leaving in the 8th, and then Armando Benitez comes in for the save.
