In response to "I dunno...i like guys in the discussion of best big game pitchers to have won something" by Will Hunting

He had 20 game years with the Cubs.

When they were bottom dwellers. He was the number 2 relief pitcher in some of those years. Cubs' #1 at that time was Sutter. And when some of the games he won were as a result of his hitting in the game winning run.

He was a smart pitcher and pitched to his team's strengths. But the game would have to be on grass.

In any of those cases you don't want the pitcher who pitched over his whole career, you want the pitcher at his best.
