I'd never tell anyone how to create their art. It's too private, too intimate.
As a viewer who is a pet lover and someone who has gone 0 for 4 on babies, I'm unlikely to like any film where a pet or infant dies. That's just the reality of it. Since Roma was billed as such a happy film, I felt totally betrayed by that scene. I'm not saying it's good or bad, just that it ruined my interest in the movie. And I'm a Cuaron superfan.
