There are a lot of people with built in sprinkler systems here, but the law requires them to use "grey" water.

They use it in state parks to irrigate too. Grey water or not, I get annoyed as hell when either an individual or a public entity doesn't keep their sprinkler heads adjusted and then spend 4 hours per night irrigating the street.
There's been a huge push here (high desert) to xeroscape because even though we draw all our water from the Snake River, there are so many farms, ranches, and dairys in the area that the aquifer under the middle part of the state is running dry. It took an entire generation to understand what is happening and how to deal with it. :(
